Development Team Volunteer - Madison

Description: Help support the Development & External Relations Department on office related tasks. You must be able to handle a wide variety of administrative tasks in an organized, efficient, and professional manner. Duties may include data entry, mailings, filing, research and other office tasks. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge software or ease of learning new software. Development Associates are encouraged to volunteer at least one 2 hour shift per week. Through food and financial donations and volunteer support, Second Harvest Foodbank acquires and distributes food to 350 partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters and meal sites, in 16 counties. From July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010, Second Harvest Foodbank distributed 8.1 million pounds of food. It is one of 200 affiliates of Feeding America, the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization, engaging our country in the fight to end hunger. We have a break room that you have access to, but please label anything you bring.The warehouse is kept at 60 degrees, so please dress in warm layers. No children under the age of 12.Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.Please do not bring in bags, purses, etc. We so not have a safe place to keep your items.
